Text Box: Inside this issue:
Text Box: These days are full of problems and answers to those various problems. It seems like every news reporter or commentator has an answer to our laundry list of issues. They can solve the economy to the Middle East. And there have been a list of people willing to try each and every option available to solve the issues. I believe there is something much more basic needed first to solve many of the looming problems.
In June, we will spend time exploring the initial call of God on Text Box: David to become the next king of Israel after Saul. We start with Samuel going into the land of Benjamin and to the city of Bethlehem, “the city of David”. This is where we learn quickly that God does not use the same sensibility in choosing a leader of His people as we would use.
Samuel meets each of Jesse’s boys as they are paraded past Him and believes each to be a fine choice. God waits till the last, David, to make His selection. It is the exact opposite of what we would Text Box: expect. Even the prophets of God are not able to read people as well as God can read.
The next story is the great story of David facing the giant Goliath. The memories of childhood flood when this story is retold. David willingly stands up for the people of Israel to take on this giant of war. Again, God knows what is right while the other people dismiss David as not big enough or strong enough.
In both of these events, the people around David looked at his Text Box: Reading Books

Fun for the Whole Family

We haven’t had an outing for the whole family lately, but this will change in June.  On June 14th we will head out after worship for an outing of Putt-Putt golf.   This will be a Dutch treat affair  and will be a great time for people of all ages.

The van will be taken and other vehicles will travel if necessary.  We hope all will join us! After golf, a trip for treats will be taken (decided by the group).  There is no need for reservations.  Just join us.
